Android 13 update will roll out to these Samsung Galaxy devices – Times of India

Android 13 is now set to make its way to Samsung Galaxy phones outside of the beta program. Samsung has already rolled out the Android 13 update on some of its smartphones whereas there are others which are likely to get it in the upcoming months.
What Android 13 may offer on Samsung devices
According to a report by 9to5Google, Android 13 has fewer updates as compared to its predecessor–Android 12– launched earlier this year. The Android 12 version revamped the platform’s design on Pixel smartphones. It also launched the “Material You” theme with special colours.

Samsung smartphones will receive a few system-level changes which include more colour for Samsung’s Material You version– “Colour Palette”. Themed icons, a feature that was rolled out with Android 12, is created to help go all-in on Material You theming. In Android 13, even third-party apps can also be customised into themed icons that create a uniform look for icons on the home screen that matches the device’s theme.
Samsung OneUI 5.0 comes as the latest version layered on top of Android 13 which brings some new features. It starts with “Privacy Detection”– while sharing photos, a new Privacy and Security dashboard which resembles the Google design, a new lock screen with options to customise it, “Maintenance mode” which hides user’s data when the phone is sent for repair, stackable widgets among others. Although the update aimed at bringing multi-user support, Samsung removed it during the beta program.
Android 13 already exists on these Samsung smartphones
In October, Samsung rolled out Android 13 topped with Samsung’s OneUI 5.0 and started rolling out across all Galaxy S22 series (Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22) globally.
In November, the update rolled out on Galaxy S21 and Galaxy 20 smartphone series. Initially, the update came in European countries like Germany and Switzerland. It is expected to roll out further in regions soon.
As of November 14, the Android 13 update came to the Galaxy S21 in India, Kazakhstan, and Russia, along with some US carriers, too.

Android 13 on Samsung Galaxy Fold phones
Starting mid-November, Samsung has begun rolling out Android 13 update on select Galaxy Fold 4 devices. The update is specifically available to those who had earlier beta tested the update.

Android 13 on Samsung Galaxy Note series
Only a handful of Samsung Note devices will run Android 13 OS. It’s the Galaxy Note 20 series which started receiving the update in early November. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra received the latest Android 13 in Switzerland on November 15 and was further expanded to the United States.

Android 13 on Samsung Galaxy A series
Android 13 is swiftly making its way to the Galaxy A-series phones. Samsung Galaxy A53 was the first A-series smartphone which received the Android 13 update launched in the UK and Europe. Next in the queue was the Galaxy A33 in Europe, while the Galaxy A73 came just a day after in Malaysia.

It’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 series to be updated to Android 13. The update rolled to 5g models of each Samsung tablet across Europe. It is likely to expand to other models and regions soon.
