android: Asus ROG Phone 2 finally starts receiving Android 11 update in select regions – Times of India

Asus is known for sending regular updates to their smartphones, especially their ROG series smartphones. The company has already updated its ROG Phone 3 to Android 11 operating system and the ROG Phone 5 was launched with Android 11 and both are most likely entitled to receive the latest Android 12 update.
What comes as a surprise though is the two-year-old — ROG Phone 2– has started receiving Android 11 update. XDA Developer has reported that the Asus Chinese website has listed down the complete changelog that’s coming to ROG Phone 2 as a part of Android 11 update.
Not to forget, the phone was launched with Android 9 Pie and has already received Android 10 update last year. The current Android 11 update could be the last major software update for the smartphone.
The Android 11 brings several new changes to the smartphone including new and updated ROG UI, updates to apps like Game Genie, Armory Crate, Contacts, Phone, Backup, and more. Apart from that the update will also include all the features that Android 11 brings to the table including notification bar style, improved gesture support and more.
In addition to this, the update also brings the latest Android Security Patch.
It is also important to note that the update is currently listed only in the Chinese website and there’s nothing on the global or Indian website regarding the update. So, it is likely that Asus might release the update in a phased manner.
