Android Auto’s latest update causing issues: How it is affecting users – Times of India

Google recently improved Android Auto’s dashboard with the “Coolwalk” update. However, some of these updates are reportedly causing issues for a few users. According to a report by 9to5Google, some users have reported that their Android Auto systems are either failing to connect or randomly disconnecting after installing the latest updates.
For the past two weeks, affected users have taken to Reddit and Google’s support forums to report the problems. According to the publication, Android Auto connection issue is quite widespread and is affecting several users.
How users have been affected
Some Android Auto users have complained that their phones are failing to connect with their car stereo properly. As per the reports, their phones are persistently searching for the system but are unable to launch the platform on the car’s displays and are showing the “Looking for Android Auto” notification. This issue is showing up on both wired and wireless connections.
The initial reports of this issue started appearing in early May. The report claims that this issue has persisted through Android Auto 9.4, 9.5 and 9.6 updates. However, some users have reported that rolling back their systems to Android Auto 9.3 is temporarily solving the issue.
Apart from this, some of the recent updates are also reportedly causing random disconnections of Android Auto. Users have reported that before randomly disconnecting, Android Auto works perfectly for some time. The report also suggests that this particular issue is primarily affecting wired connections.
One of the affected users claimed that switching to a Motorola MA1 wireless adapter fixed the problem.
Google is soon expected to fix the issues with an upcoming update. However, the tech giant hasn’t acknowledged it yet. So, users are recommended to stick with a working Android Auto version. Users can also try out the latest updates to check if it fixes the issue(s).
