Android Auto’s redesign is now rolling out: These users can start using it – Times of India
Android Auto‘s new interface is currently being beta tested. As per the images shared over the last few weeks, the redesign will offer a cleaner look and easy navigation with a more intuitive placement of apps. While there is no official announcement on when the feature will be available for the masses, a few users claim that they have got the new user interface.
It is noteworthy that the new Android Auto redesign is still under testing phase and those who claim to get it have the beta version. A bunch of users posted the availability of the new UI on Android Auto thread on Reddit (spotted by 9to5google) suggesting that they have got the redesigned version on cars that have a rotary dial for input.
Unlike the newer models that have touchscreen panels, a lot of old cars have a screen and Android Auto support but use rotary dials (or buttons) for input.
It was previously reported that Google appeared to be blocking cars with rotary input from using “Coolwalk.” It was presumed that the company was optimising the experience for that method of input. However, it looks like that isn’t the case.

Android Auto redesign
Android Auto redesign is in line with the company’s Material You overhaul. The button placement and the overall layout have been changed and it now looks much cleaner and in line with other apps.
Google gave the first glimpse of Android Auto Coolwalk update at the Google I/O keynote.
As far as the highlighting features of the redesign are concerned, the Coolwalk update brings a major design overhaul to Android Auto. The screen will now have a dual window setup that shows two different pieces of information on a single screen. For instance, the left side of the screen is reserved for Maps and navigation, while the right side displays other information like music, calls, etc.
