android: Google to bring Material You theme to more Android 12 smartphones – Times of India

Google just dropped the first look at the next-version of Android operating system and what to expect from it (here). However, there are smartphones which, despite getting Android 12 update, never received the Material You dynamic theming feature.
Google kept it exclusive to Pixel-devices. However, the company has now decided that it will release the Material You theming to other Android 12 devices in future, according to a report by AndroidPolice.
The website has also reported that smartphones from Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo, Realme and Tecno will receive this option soon. However, the company hasn’t provided any official release timeline as of now.
The report also suggests that Google is working on a similar theming system for its other operating system and services including ChromeOS and Search.
Although, the company hasn’t revealed when they will start rolling out the Material You theme to smartphones.
For those unaware, Google has released the first look of the new version of Android. The next version will be called Android 13 and it will focus on improving users’ privacy.
In addition to that, the Android 13 is expected to include features like a new photo picker feature, Nearby device permission for Wi-Fi and more.
