Andy Murray to copy Emma Raducanu with as lucrative opportunities eyed
Andy Murray is to join the same IMG agency as Emma Raducanu. The Scot, 35, will take his long-time manager Matt Gentry to the American management company based in New York.
Murray said: “I’m looking forward to working with IMG not just for the remainder of my playing career, but with an eye on the future and opportunities both in tennis and in the wider business world.”
IMG secured Raducanu multiple endorsement deals with blue-chip sponsors like Tiffany & Co, Dior, Porsche, British Airways, Evian, Vodafone and HSBC since she won the 2021 US Open.
Max Eisenbud, who is also the British No 1’s agent, said: “Andy has built a legacy in tennis that has not only shaped the sport but also defined its place in culture. We’re thrilled to have him join the IMG family and work together to expand his reach and influence across multiple businesses.”
The move shows that the three-time Grand Slam champion is already thinking of his opportunities beyond tennis, with Raducanu already reaping the benefits of being an IMG client. Murray has already dipped into some avenues outside of his playing career, as the world No 52 became a shareholder in sports and menswear brand Castore back in 2019.
Murray, and Gentry co-founded 77 Sports Management together, with the company previously representing the 35-year-old as well as several other British tennis players. But the tennis division of 77 Sports Management will now be disbanded.
