Another OnePlus Nord 2 blast reported, smartphone exploded in user’s hand during a call

Going into detail, a Twitter user @lakshayvrm tweeted last week that his brother’s OnePlus Nord 2 unit exploded in his hands while he was on a call. Luckily, the victim is safe and sound and wasn’t injured during the incident. Lakshay Verma added that he and the victim visited the service centre located at CP, New Delhi for a resolution and were asked to wait for 2-3 days only to be told that the Nord 2 was burnt and they (OnePlus) can’t do anything about it.

The Twitter user attached images of the burnt OnePlus Nord 2, showing the phone completely damaged and beyond repair. The screen was shattered and the frame was detached from the rear panel. The blast appears to have happened near the left edge of the phone, which is where the phone caught fire in earlier cases as well.

The Twitter user, who couldn’t get a proper response from OnePlus and was extremely vexed, revealed that he filed a case at the consumer court and mentioned the case number as well. What’s interesting is that there’s no response from OnePlus’s social media team and there’s no statement as well.

OnePlus Nord 2 has been involved in several blast incidents since its launch last July and this could deter consumers from purchasing what is otherwise a well-rounded device in terms of specifications. We will update this story once we hear OnePlus’ response to the latest incident.
