The team behind Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has just released a new featurette, just 10 days ahead of the release of the film. This featurette brings Kang The Conqueror to the spotlight and showcases his personality and traits in the upcoming film. This information is revealed to us by the cast and crew working on the film.
We now know that ‘The Conqueror’ is not someone to be messed with. Kevin Feige has called Kang “the new iconic villain in the MCU”. Peyton Reed, who is directing the film, states that they wanted to go somewhere they hadn’t been before, and putting Ant-Man against the likes of Kang was the perfect way to do that.
Paul Rudd then goes on to speak about how he first saw a variant of this character in the MCU series Loki. Here, Jonathan Majors plays the ‘He Who Remains’ variant of Kang. Then him and Feige go on to explain how he is very different in the film and how this character can have an infinite number of personas.
Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays Janet Van Dyne, talked about Kang’s powers and states this character is someone to be concerned about as he can “rewrite existence” and also “shatter timelines”. On top of that, this is the worst version of him that Ant-Man and gang will be going up against.
In the end, Jonathan Majors provides us a few of his insights on the character. He first speaks about how the film shows time playing within a relationship. How it reacts to “love, friendship, legacy”. He then ends the featurette by saying “Ant-Man vs Kang, this is it, people are going to lose their minds”.
The Conqueror.
