Apex Legends Season 17 Introduces Ballistic, Apex Museum and New World’s Edge Map

Apex Legends Season 17, dubbed Arsenal, drops on May 9, 2023. Respawn Entertainment has revealed the latest addition to the ever-growing characters list who’ll arrive with the new season.

Ballistic will be the new Legend entering the Apex Games and will be the latest legend after Catalyst who arrived in Season 15.

EA and Respawn did not add a new Legend to the game in the previous season, which has been the only season so far in Apex Legends’ four-year tenure that arrived without a new Legend.

Ballistic

That changes with August Montgomery Brinkman aka Ballistic who is a former Thunderdome Games (predecessor of Apex Games) competitor. Ballistic hung up his boots after a tragic loss in the past but has been forced into action again to save his own son from following his footsteps.

Ballistic was a gunslinger and hence, his abilities revolve around being an Assault class character. His passive allows him to carry a third weapon. Ballistic’s tactical ability is a smart bullet which locks onto a target and deals damage while overheating the target’s weapons.

The ultimate ability allows Ballistic and his teammates access to unlimited ammo, increased movement speed and faster reload speeds for a limited time. It also upgrades Ballistic’s third weapon to gold.

World’s Edge map

Respawn mentions a ‘healed’ World’s Edge map is in store for players. The lava around World’s Edge has finally cooled off, and there have been some repairs and constructions added. Mirage’s party ship gets its permanent place in the new World’s Edge map.

A brand new point of interest called Apex Games Museum has also been added. This location features the history of the Apex Games. It is located in Fragment East.

Weapon Mastery

One of the most exciting additions is the upcoming Weapon Mastery system. Players can now master a weapon by completing weapon-specific challenges and completing trials for each and every weapon in the game.

It will allow players to earn various rewards such as weapon-specific badges, trackers, a Legendary Banner Frame and a Legendary Weapon Pack which guarantees a legendary skin for that particular weapon.

Firing Range

Apex Legends developers also revealed a new and updated Firing Range in Season 16, and they’ve just upgraded it to a newer, advanced level.

The firing range has been completely overhauled in the area with a new duel pit for 1v1 combat. There’s also a revamped Combat Range and a Vert Course, and much more to try out.
