Apple AirPods prototype with transparent design surfaces on Twitter – Times of India
The upper portion of the AirPods that goes inside the ear sports the same white plastic as seen on the production models. Apple is known to use transparent casings for prototype devices as it allows engineers to see directly into the device. With the clear plastic, the Apple AirPods look quite similar to the Nothing Ear (1) TWS earbuds.

Last week, the collector shared images of a prototype Apple 29W charger that also features a transparent casing. The 29W power adapter was bundled with the 12-inch MacBook, but Apple discontinued the adapter with that device in 2018 and it was replaced with a 30W adapter.

Apple recently launched the third generation of AirPods. The new TWS earbuds look similar to the AirPods Pro but without the silicon tips. They come with shorter stems and a redesigned charging case. It also features the same intuitive force sensor as seen on the Pro model for media control. They are resistant to both sweat and water, with an IPX4 rating for both the earbuds and the charging case.
Powered by the H1 chip, the new AirPods come with Spatial Audio support. The company claims that the earbuds use computational audio to deliver sound with Adaptive EQ and it allows users to enjoy spatial audio featuring Dolby Atmos in Apple Music, movies, and tv shows, along with dynamic head tracking, across Apple devices.
