apple: Apple AirPods Pro 2 rumoured to launch in third quarter of 2022 – Times of India

Apple will launch the AirPods Pro 2 in the third quarter next year, according to a new rumour by tipster FronTron. The tipster revised his previous claim that the tech giant will launch the next generation of AirPods Pro in the second quarter of 2022. The leaker now claims that the earbuds will be launched a quarter later. FronTron has told MacRumors that he got the information from the supply chain and it is based on the same source that correctly predicted the launch of AirPods 3.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously also reported that Apple is working on second-generation AirPods Pro to follow the AirPods 3. As per Mark, the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will be quite compact as compared to the current AirPods Pro as the company is aiming to get rid of the short stem that sticks out from the bottom. Getting the hardware of the AirPods Pro into a smaller chassis has proven difficult, Mark reported further.
According to a report released in May, Apple’s second-generation ‌AirPods Pro‌ will sport updated motion sensors with a focus on fitness tracking. Keeping the recently launched AirPods 3 in mind, other features that are also likely to appear in the AirPods Pro 2 include MagSafe Charging Case, IPX-4 rated water resistance along with skin-detect sensors.
Apple is also reportedly working on AirPods with various health features including posture and body temperature monitoring. Apart from this, the Airpods will also have the ability to work as a hearing aid, reads a report by The Wall Street Journal. The claims are based on documents in which a prototype of these earbuds is seen with temperature sensors that monitor the wearer’s core body temperature from inside the ear. The earbuds are also said to use motion sensors to monitor the posture of the wearer and notify them if their body is drooping.
