Apple: Apple AR/VR Headset to reportedly feature sports, gaming, and fitness apps – Times of India

Apple is said to be working on its mixed reality headset which is tipped to combine augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The company is expected to unveil the mixed reality at the upcoming annual developer conference WWDC 2023. Now a new report has surfaced online revealing some more details about the upcoming headset.
As reported by Bloomberg, Apple is working on creating different apps which will encourage the users to use the upcoming Apple headset. The report adds that Apple is working on a dedicated sports, gaming, wellness and other collaboration apps for its AR/VR headset.
Apple’s mixed reality headset apps
Bloomberg also reveals that Apple is planning to adapt iPad apps for the headset so that users will be able to access the present App Store content via the 3D interface of the wearable. Users will also be able to run multiple apps simultaneously, and the device will feature geolocation functionality for seamless app-switching as the user moves between different rooms.
Apple’s upcoming Fitness+ app is set to offer users the opportunity to work out while being guided by a virtual reality instructor. Additionally, the Health app will include graphics, sounds, and voice-overs to assist users with meditation. As part of Apple’s growing involvement in the sports arena, the company will place emphasis on immersive viewing experiences for MLB and MLS content. Furthermore, there will be a dedicated TV app that will allow users to watch videos within virtual reality environments.
The report also suggest that users will also be able to able to experience FaceTime on the Apple mixed reality headset and the Camera app will enable users to take images from the headset’s camera. Along with this, the tech giant is also said to be working with different game developers inorder to update their existing gaming content for the mixed reality headset.
Apple mixed reality headset expected price
As per online speculations, Apple’s upcoming mixed reality headset could be priced at $3,000. These rumors also indicate that the company has commenced the development of the second-generation headset, which is anticipated to be more reasonably priced.
