apple: Apple has a new firmware update for AirPods Pro – Times of India

Apple has begun the rollout of a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro which will bring version 4A402 to the true wireless earbuds, as per a report by 9To5Mac. For now, the firmware update is AirPods Pro-exclusive only and AirPods Max, AirPods, or any Beats headphones are not going to get it. That is, for the time being. The firmware rollout could include these gadgets too in the coming future.
The update will be automatically transferred to your AirPods Pro via Bluetooth when you connect the earbuds to your iPhone. To check whether you have the latest firmware version, head over to the Settings in the iPhone, go to the Bluetooth menu, find your AirPods in the list of devices there and tap the ‘i’ next to them to check the firmware version. The latest firmware version, as we mentioned earlier, is 4A402 and if it is showing that only, it means that you have the latest version and you need not do anything else.
Meanwhile, rumours about the successor to the AirPods Pro have arrived already. Tipster FronTron has claimed that the AirPods Pro 2 could make their entry into the markets by the third quarter of 2022. FronTron told MacRumors that he got the information from the supply chain and it is based on the same source that correctly predicted the launch of AirPods 3.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously also reported that Apple is working on second-generation AirPods Pro to follow the AirPods 3. As per Mark, the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will be quite compact as compared to the current AirPods Pro as the company is aiming to get rid of the short stem that sticks out from the bottom.
