apple: Apple iPhone 14 series tipped to get upgraded front camera with these features – Times of India

Apple is expected to launch four new smartphones in the iPhone 14 series later this year – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Leaks and rumours around the upcoming flagship series have been in circulation for quite some time. Now, latest tweets by known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggest that the iPhone 14 series may feature an upgraded front facing camera with autofocus and a wider f/1.9 aperture. To recall, the iPhone 13 series comes with a fixed focus selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.
“The front camera of four new iPhone 14 models in 2H22 would likely upgrade to AF (autofocus) & about f/1.9 aperture (vs. iPhone 13’s FF (fixed-focus) and f/2.2).” tweet from Kuo read. Increase in aperture means that iPhone 14 series smartphones will have better depth of field while using the portrait mode, it also means that more light will reach the sensor. The autofocus will help the user stay in focus during video calls.
With the iPhone 14 series, Apple is also reportedly planning to ditch the notch. If the reports are to be believed, the upgraded front facing camera in the iPhone 14 series will be housed in a puch-hole cutout.
As per predictions shared by Kuo last year, the two Pro models in the iPhone 14 series will feature triple rear camera setup with a 48MP wide lens, 12MP ultra wide and telephoto lenses. He also said that the smartphones will support 8K video recording.
According to detailed schematics shared by Max Weinbach on Twitter, Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max may feature a thicker overall design and a prominent camera bump. As per the schematics, the ‌iPhone 14 Pro ‌Max will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 13 Pro Max when it comes to width. However, both the devices are said to have almost identical height.
