Apple Gears to Launch its First Retail Store in India; Here’s What We Know
In recent years, Apple has been growing its presence in India. It set up a manufacturing plant in Chennai in order to get its products to the country easily. However, in so many years, India has never had an official Apple retail store, and that is soon going to change. The company has announced that it will bring its first Apple Store to Mumbai.
The Apple stores we see in India are not actually official retail stores, instead they are premium resellers that have received authentication from Apple. Now, it seems that Apple has decided to bring its first retail store to the country. India being the most populated country in the world now makes this a lucrative opportunity for Apple to bolster its hold over the country.
Apple teased the Mumbai store by showing a barricade of the store which is inspired by “Kaali Peeli taxi art.” It also has decals featuring Apple products and welcome sign that reads “Hello Mumbai.”
The Apple official retail store is coming to one of the most luxurious malls in the city, Jio World Drive Mall, which is located in Bandra Kurla Complex in the city.
Seeing that Jio World Drive Mall is home to a lot of designer brands and luxury products, it makes sense for Apple to open their first retail store in this location. India has also become one of the main hubs in the world for purchasing technology-based products. At the moment, we do not have a date for when this store will open for the general public.
In celebration of this store, Apple has also set up a link for people download Apple’s BKC store inspired wallpapers and an Apple Music Playlist that was specifically curated to for people to “move to the sounds of Mumbai.”
