apple headset: Apple AR/VR headset could have M1 chip-level performance: Tech analyst – Times of India

The Apple headset is one of the more popular and talked-about upcoming Apple gadgets and as with other product launches by the tech giant, we have some predictions about the headset by noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
As per the claims of Kuo, the Apple headset will weigh in between 300 and 400 grams and come with high resolution displays for each eye. He also says that the users could expect a performance comparable to the M1 chipsets the company uses in the MacBooks. He added that the headset could start at around $1,000 and launch in 2022.
Not only this, Kuo has something to add about the next generation of the Apple headset. The tech giant is planning for the second generation of the headsets, as per Kuo. These are speculated to have a lighter, updated industrial design, and have a new battery system. The second gen Apple AR/VR headsets could arrive in the second half of 2024, and Kuo adds that by that time the demand for the product could be expected to be more that 10 million units.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed recently that there will be three key areas for which the headset is being designed–gaming, media consumption and communication.
A VR device is not the same as an iPhone or a MacBook and may not be embraced at such a fast rate as predicted. Apple should be very careful about the accessibility and the pricing of the product to make it a hit among consumers. Only the public reception will tell if the gadget is going to sell.
