Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the iPhone 14 will bring significant camera improvements, starting with a large camera sensor. This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about the 2022 iPhone’s camera. The analyst originally predicted the iPhone 14 will come with a 48MP sensor back in April. He also suggested there will be support for 8K video recording, which is a jump from 4K 60fps. Considering how impressive the video footage from iPhones is, we expect the 8K video recording to be groundbreaking. The large megapixel count is also expected to provide better results, with additional details in photos and videos. We can also expect improvements to low-light performance.
Interestingly, another analyst Jeff Pu recently corroborated with details shared by Kuo and predicted a 48MP wide-angle camera on iPhone 14. However, Pu stated that he expects the 48MP sensors only on the iPhone 14 Pro models as the regular iPhone 14 variants may still get the standard 12MP ultra-wide angle lens and a telephoto camera.

Moving to iPhone 15, they’re set to arrive in the second half of 2023 and will have a periscope lens. However, the periscope lens was also initially expected to be a part of the iPhone 13 series and was later pushed to arrive in 2022. So, we’ll know for sure when the iPhone 15 is actually launched.
