Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max during its ‘Wonderlust’ event, which was streamed live from Apple Park in California this Tuesday. These smartphones are powered by Apple’s cutting-edge A17 Pro chipset, delivering impressive performance.

One of the most notable new feature is the new programmable Action button, similar to the one found on the Apple Watch Ultra. Unlike their predecessors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with a USB Type-C charging port. The top-of-the-line model also boasts a periscope camera setup, enhancing its zoom capabilities.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are equipped with impressive displays, boasting a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen, respectively. These displays incorporate Apple’s Ceramic Shield material and can reach peak brightness levels of up to 2,000 nits.

Both phones also carry an IP68 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance. What sets them apart is Apple’s new 3nm A17 Pro chipset, which not only delivers a 10 per cent increase in performance but also offers up to three times more efficiency compared to the competition.

In terms of construction, these handsets feature Grade 5 titanium and an aluminium sub-structure, enhancing both durability and lightness. They introduce a novel Action button, replacing the Mute switch, which can be customized for various functions.

When it comes to photography, both models feature a 48MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.78 aperture and an anti-glare coating. Additionally, there’s a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The iPhone 15 Pro includes a 12MP 3x telephoto camera, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max incorporates a 12MP periscope camera setup with an f/2.8 aperture, promising up to 5x optical zoom capability.

For selfies and video calls, the iPhone 15 Pro series incorporates a 12MP TrueDepth camera with an f/1.9 aperture.

Similar to the standard models, the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a USB Type-C port offering USB 3.0 speeds. This enables data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps with an optional cable.

Apple asserts that the iPhone 15 Pro can provide a full day of use, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max is claimed to offer even longer battery life. Moreover, these handsets support the Qi2 standard, which offers faster wireless charging speeds according to Apple’s claims.

As for pricing and availability, the iPhone 15 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 for the base 128GB variant, while customers can purchase the iPhone 15 Pro Max for Rs 1,59,900 with 256GB of storage.

iPhone 15 Pro’s 256GB variant will cost Rs 1,44,900, the 512GB variant will cost 1,64,900 while the 1TB will cost Rs 1,84,900. The iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 512GB variant will cost Rs 1,79,900 while the 1TB variant will cost Rs 1,99,900.

Pre-orders for both models will commence on September 15, and they will officially go on sale starting September 22. Apple is offering these devices in a range of colours, including Black Titanium, Blue Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium.
