Apple may add ‘Custom Accessibility Mode’ to iOS: What this means for iPhone users – Times of India

The Cupertino giant seems to be working on a new ‘Custom Accessibility Mode,’ which may come with the release of iOS 16.2 next month, reports 9to5Mac. The ‘Custom Accessibility Mode’ was found in the second beta of iOS 16.2.
The feature internally referred to as ‘Clarity’ would offer a “customizable, streamlined way to use your iPhone and iPad. The report suggests that the Custom Accessibility Mode would work in a similar way to the Guided Access, though users would be able to navigate through apps with some restrictions.
What is Custom Accessibility Mode
With Custom Accessibility Mode, users could customize the user interface and text – make it larger for better readability, apps on the home screen, and access to buttons and contacts. Further, users can also set a password, so no one changes these settings. The mode can be enabled or disabled by pressing the side button thrice ( Home button for older iPhones).
Enabling this mode changes the interface throughout the system. The lockscreen shows “Hold Down to Enter,” and the home screen gets rid of the dock showing large icons. Meanwhile, the native app also looks different, focusing on the important elements.
While the Custom Accessibility Mode has been found in the developer beta of iOS 16.2, there is no word if or when it will be released. We can expect it to come out next month with the stable release of iOS 16.2. But, there are chances that the feature can be delayed as not all the developer beta testers have received the feature, so it is still a work in progress.
The iOS 16.2 is expected to bring the much-anticipated Freeform and some changes to the Home and Weather apps.
