Apple may increase price of iPhone 15 series: These could be the affected models

Apple is expected to unveil its 2023 iPhone series in September later this year. The upcoming iPhone 15 series is said to offer four models namely iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. As per Wall Street analyst Dan Ives, the company may increase the price of Pro models by up to $200.

Last year, Ives predicted a price hike for the iPhone 14 series that turned out to be accurate. In a session with CNBC, the analyst said Apple may follow the same strategy with iPhone 15 series. He did not specifically mention the model-wise price, but said that the company will raise average selling prices (ASPs) of iPhones in the US.

The price hike is most likely to impact the Pro models with the raise reaching up to $200 for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The current iPhone 14 series has a starting price of $799 for the base model of iPhone 14, $899 for iPhone 14 Plus, $999 for the iPhone 14 Pro and $1,099 for iPhone 14 Pro Max. If, at all, the iPhone 15 Pro models get a price hike as expected by analysts, the iPhone 15 Pro may come with a starting price of $1,199 (approx. 99,000). While the Pro Max model may carry a price tag of $1,299 (approx. 1,07,000).

According to Ives, the Cupertino-based tech giant is looking to raise its valuation with the price rise. He says that Apple foresees its valuation increasing from the current $2.85 trillion to an estimated $3.5 trillion to $4 trillion within the next 18 to 24 months.

He also pointed out the potential market opportunity for Apple, as approximately 250 million iPhone users have not been upgraded in the past four years. As per Ives prediction, Apple may ship between 235 million and 240 million units of the iPhone 15 in 2023.
