Apple’s second fall event went quite as expected. Most things that analysts had speculated made its apperance at the Cupertino giant’s October event dubbed, ‘Unleashed’. Here’s a roundup of all the big announcements:
Apple MacBook Pro gets biggest upgrade in years
Apple has given one pf the biggest-ever revamp to its MacBook Pro lineup. The next-generation MacBook Pros come in 14-inch and 16-inch size and are powered by the company’s brand new M1 Pro and M1 Max chip. The new MacBooks come with HDMI port, SD card slot, notch, FaceID and MagSafe connector. he display is a Liquid Retina CDR display featuring mini-LED. The 14-inch MacBook Pro is $1,999 and the 16-inch will be $2,499. Apple has removed touchbar, and instead the popular keyboard from its Magic Keyboard design has made its way to the laptop.
Apple launches new laptop processors — M1 Pro and M1 Max
Apple expanded its laptop chip lineup M1 with the addition of New M1 Pro and M1 max chip. The company introduced the ARM-based M1 lineup in 2020 when it first launched a chip sans Intel processor. Here are the specs of the M1 Pro and M1X as announced by Apple’s hardware technologies SVP Johnny Srouji during the event:

Apple AirPods get third-generation
As widely speculated, Apple introduced third-generation of AirPods, AirPods 3, priced at Rs 18,500. AirPods are Apple’s entry-level TWS buds launched first time in 2017. The second-generation AirPods launched in March 2019. AirPods 3 come with with spatial audio built in. The new AirPods sport a different design with smaller stem. They have a case and force sensor controls on the stems similar to ApirPods Pro. AirPods 3 come with “adaptive EQ” to change how you hear sounds based on the conditions in your ear canal and are sweat and water resistant. Apple says it now has 6 hours of listening time on a charge, and up to 30 hours total using the charging case.
Apple adds three new colours to HomePod Mini, price remains same
Apple’s adding three new colours to its smart speakers HomePod Mini — yellow, orange and blue. The price remains same in India — Rs 9,999. This follows upgrades for the iMac earlier this year, which offered seven colors including orange, yellow and blue as well. The new colours of HomePod Minis will be made available starting in November. HomePod mini is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later, or iPod touch (7th generation) running iOS 15; iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later; or iPad mini 4 or later running iPadOS 15.
AirPods Pro now support MagSafe Charging
Alongside the new AirPods 3, Apple also announced that the AirPods Pro now come with a MagSafe Charging case. But users will have to buy new charging cases for this, the existing case does not support MagSafe charging.
