Apple is not going to launch a foldable iPhone anytime soon. However, a new online report suggests that the company may launch a foldable iPad in 2024. Apple is said to be testing a foldable iPad display with a 20-inch screen.
According to a report by CNBC, Apple is said to launch a foldable iPad in 2024. Quoting analysts at CCS Insight, the report adds that Apple is planning to unveil a foldable iPad before bringing the technology to iPhone.
Ben Wood, chief of research at CCS Insight, told CNBC in an interview, “Right now it doesn’t make sense for Apple to make a foldable iPhone. We think they will shun that trend and probably dip a toe in the water with a foldable iPad.”
The report also mentions that Apple is working on a 20-inch foldable iPad and the device is said to be available in the market by 2027. Apple is also said to be working with LG for an ultra-thin cover glass which can be used in the foldable devices of the company.
Meanwhile, another online report revealed that Apple may soon launch an M2 chip powered iPad Pro in the coming days. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple may soon launch new iPad models soon.
Gurman further adds that the new generation iPad Pro is expected to be powered by the M2 chipset. This is the same chipset which powered the M2 MacBook Air laptop which Apple launched in June this year. Apple is said to launch two models of iPad Pro with 11-inch and 12.9-inch displays.
