iPad mini 6: Existing battery replacement policy
If sixth-generation iPad mini users now need to get just the battery replaced at Apple Stores and authorised service providers — the existing policy is to offer these customers a replacement device, instead of replacing the damaged battery in the original iPad.
As per the report, repair centers from now on will replace just the damaged battery (if eligible) without offering these customers a whole unit replacement (WUR).
The new policy will be currently implemented only for the iPad mini 6 and may follow for other iPad models in the upcoming days. So, Apple iPad users need to be on the lookout as the new policy in certain instances can be disadvantageous for some customers.
What it means for users
The previous policy helped some customers to get a WUR for eligible battery damages.
Along with repairing the battery, the last policy also helped users to get rid of any dents and cracks on their original iPad as the company offered a completely new device.
Apart from getting the battery replaced, the new policy will leave behind minor defects.
