Speculations about Apple entering into the virtual and augmented reality headset has been revolving around the internet for almost over a decade now and 2023 is reportedly the year when Apple may introduce its first VR/AR headset likely to be named as either Reality Pro and Reality 1. Apple’s headset will be a mixed reality headset
As per several leaks and rumours, the alleged Reality Pro headset will support both augmented and virtual reality. The headset is expected to come with a digital crown that’ll allow users execute several commands including switching between AR and VR on the go.
Dedicated operating system for headset
Another key feature of the unannounced headset from Apple is support for hand and eye tracking. The AR/VR headset is supposed to run a new operating system called xrOS that supports features like FaceTime calls, Apple Books and games. The headset is also expected to get an external battery pack which will sit in the user’s pocket.
To be as expensive as three iPhone 14 Pro
Apple Reality Pro headset is expected to launch at a price of around $3000 (approximately Rs 2,40,000). This is three times the price of iPhone 14 Pro which costs $999.
To feature two 4K displays
As per a recent report, Apple headset is expected to feature two 1.41-inch 4K displays for each eye.
