Apple Watch Ultra to get 60 hours of battery backup update later this year – Times of India

As speculated Apple launched its new rugged smartwatch — Apple Watch Ultra at its iPhone 14 launch event on September 7. The new rugged Apple Watch sports a bold design and a wide range of features built for endurance, exploration, and adventure. The all new Apple Watch Ultra sports a 49mm titanium case and flat sapphire front crystal which is said to be the biggest and brightest Apple Watch display yet. In order to power the big smartwatch, the company has also increased its battery size.
Apple claims that the Apple Watch Ultra can last for up to 36 hours on a single charge. With the new Watch series, Apple also introduced a Low Power Mode and battery optimization options. Apple claims that with the low power mode the Apple Watch Ultra can deliver up to 60 hours of battery backup. With this battery backup, Apple Watch Ultra becomes the first smartwatch of the company to offer more than 24 hours of battery backup.

The low power mode is part of WatchOS 9 which will roll out on September 12. Apple Watch Ultra will also get the new battery optimisation features via software update. The company has not yet revealed a specific date for the update but it is expected to roll out later this year.
Apple Watch Ultra is priced at Rs 89,990 and will go on sale starting September 23.
