First Apple Store in India
Apple BKC is the first brick and mortar store from the iPhone maker in India. The physical store launch comes two years after it opened its online store in India. Apple has been selling its devices through authorised resellers and e-commerce platforms.
Apple BKC will offer store pickup so customers can order products online, and it will also host free ‘Today at Apple’ sessions. Apple BKC is also one of its most energy-efficient stores in the world with a dedicated solar array, and zero reliance on fossil fuels for store operations.
Apple is also opening another store in India, and this one is located at Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi. This Apple Store is scheduled to open to customers on April 20th.
Apple in India
Apple, although a popular brand in India, occupies less than 5 percent of the total marketshare. It however registered double digit growth year-over-year and a quarterly revenue record, according to its Q1 2023 earnings report. The Cupertino-based company started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017, and its third-party suppliers have three plants in the country. Apple plans on using 100 percent clean energy for all active supply chain partners here.
