Apple Store Delhi

It’s no surprise that Apple is a popular brand in India and the long queues outside the stores are testament to it. Cook was also at the Apple Store’s opening where he welcomed the customers and also snapped some photos with the public. Here, customers will have access to Apple’s complete product lineup along with facilities such as Apple Pickup that allows you to order online and pick it up from the store.

The Apple Store in Saket also runs on 100 percent renewable energy, the company said in a release. There are more than 70 staff members in this Apple Store who come from 18 states and speak over 15 different languages, it added.

Tim Cook meets PM Modi

Cook has been tweeting about what he’s been up to in Delhi and some of the places he visited were the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy and Lodhi’s Art District. He also talked about his official meeting with Modi which he shared in a tweet saying, “We share your vision of the positive impact technology can make on India’s future — from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment, we’re committed to growing and investing across the country.”

Details on the meeting are not known yet but Apple has been increasingly putting efforts in expanding its market here. With its first brick and mortar stores it looks like Apple is finally getting serious about India albeit very late considering Apple has been in India for 25 years now. Speaking of which, this week also marks Apple’s 25th anniversary in the country.

Apple has been producing iPhones in India since 2020 at three plants belonging to suppliers Wistron, Foxconn and Pegatron in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
