Applying for job? Never send CV generated by ChatGPT, here’s why | Digit
ChatGPT being the new ‘it’ thing, everyone is utilising the chatbot for various tasks. Especially students, as they have been utilising ChatGPT in every way possible, be it their assignments or their CV. But the question is, are these getting accepted at the professional level?
Batch of 2023, who are now walking into the professional field after leaving the comfort of educational institutions, are caught in a bit of pickle. Should they exaggerate their achievements through the powers of ChatGPT by putting together an outstanding CV to help them stand out in the job market?

I can’t say this for all students, but at least my friends from college who’re passing out this year have been working on enhancing their CV with ChatGPT. But as it is being sent over to companies for evaluation, it is turning out to be a deal breaker.
HR managers say it’s very easy after years of experience to know if something is genuine or not. Also, these AI bots at times will give two people similar answers, which too makes it easy for the professionals to rule such people out.
Job seekers who use generative AI should be careful, however: 39 percent of HR professionals said the use of AI tech during hiring is a dealbreaker.
iCMIS Chief Technology Officer Al Smith commented “Generative AI bots (like ChatGPT) have the potential to help both candidates and employers be more productive and communicate better.” He further said that, “From resumes and job descriptions to offer letters and onboarding material, the technology offers employers and recruiters a better starting point as they move through the hiring journey.”

Definitely the technology is going far and beyond, but the point is how beneficial it is if you can’t crack the deal. Exploring and using new tools is definitely interesting but knowing their boundaries is also super critical for everyone to understand, least of all students who have dreams of landing their favourite job – hopefully they are tempering their enthusiasm with ChatGPT when writing their CVs.
