Are your Twitter followers decreasing? Here’s why
Over the last few months, Twitter has undergone a series of changes under Musk’s leadership, such as the removal of Blue Ticks from legacy accounts, the introduction of long-form tweets, and the implementation of a subscription model called Twitter Blue. And now, Musk has issued a new advisory. Let us get into the details.
Inactive Twitter accounts to be archived
According to Musk, inactive Twitter accounts will be removed from the platform. The decision to remove inactive accounts may impact your follower count, as those accounts will no longer be present in your followers list.
Meanwhile, in response to Musk’s tweet, a user expressed concern that the decision to delete inactive accounts could have negative consequences, specifically the loss of “historic” tweets from those accounts. The user suggested that Musk should reconsider his plan before proceeding with it.
Musk also expressed his gratitude towards individuals who are backing content creators on Twitter in a separate tweet. According to him, the first 12 months of earnings for creators are not subject to any charges. Afterward, the platform charges a commission of 10 percent.
Meanwhile, a recent report states that in order to increase Twitter Blue subscriptions, Musk has limited certain features only to be accessible to those who have subscribed to Twitter Blue. In April, Twitter eliminated the blue legacy verification badges from the accounts of non-paying users.
