Arjun Tendulkar included in South Zone squad for Deodhar Trophy | Cricket News – Times of India
The selection committee has chosen the top performers from each of the South Zone states, with a few players, including B Sai Sudharsan, being kept as standbys as they will be participating in the Emerging Asia Cup in Colombo from July 13-23.
Arjun, known for his left-arm fast medium bowling and hard-hitting abilities as a lower-order batter, made his debut for the Mumbai Indians in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His impressive performances have led to his selection for the BCCI’s upcoming Emerging all-rounders’ camp in August.
Arjun will be part of the South Zone’s pace attack, which also features Karnataka’s opening bowlers Vidwath Kaverappa and Vyshak Vijaykumar, along with V Koushik.
Having emerged as the joint highest wicket-taker for the Goa team, with eight scalps from seven games, Arjun’s inclusion in the squad brings variety to the South Zone’s bowling attack as a left-arm seamer.
The Deodhar Trophy traditionally gives an opportunity to the premier performer from each state, and Arjun’s selection reflects his promising talent and potential as a young cricketer.
Squad: Mayank Agarwal (Captain), Rohan Kunnummal (vice-captain), N Jagadeesan (wicketkeeper), Rohit Rayadu, KB Arun Karthik, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui (wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, V Kaverappa, V Vyshak, Kaushik V, Mohit Redkar, Sijomon Joseph, Arjun Tendulkar, Sai Kishore.
