The 80s and 90s action-superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger was last seen on screen in 2019 for Terminator: Dark Fate, the last instalment from his super-hit franchise. He is set to make his come-back soon with the upcoming action-thriller, Breakout. The movie is being directed by The Expendables 4’s Scott Waugh. Here’s all you need to know.
Schwarzenegger to make his big-screen comeback
The news comes in an exclusive from Deadline. Arnold Schwarzenegger will take on the role of Terry Reynolds a father who is on a mission to save his stepson Daniel by breaking him out of jail as he gets wrongfully framed for a crime. Scheduled to launch ahead of the Cannes Market, the shooting will kick off soon this year in Eastern Europe.

Breakout is being directed by Scott Waugh, who has previously directed movies like The Expendables 4 (2023), Need for Speed (2014), and Act of Valor (2012). Anton and Off the Pier Productions will be producing the movie. Richard D’Ovidio is the writer of the screenplay, which is based on a story co-created by Nicole D’Ovidio. Richard D’Ovidio is known for his work on the screenplay of The Last Frontier, an Apple original series, and The Call.
Breakout will mark the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger to the big screen.
