Arsenal have four Lautaro Martinez transfer alternatives if Chelsea sign Romelu Lukaku

Arsenal are desperate to add more firepower to their squad this summer and have been linked with Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez. But the Italian side are unlikely to sanction a move if Romelu Lukaku joins rivals Chelsea.

Martinez proved to be a key player under Antonio Conte last season and racked up an impressive 17 league goals and 10 assists as Inter stormed to the Serie A title.

With Lukaku contributing 24 league goals, the loss of both forwards would prove too much of a handicap if Inter want to dominate Serie A once again.

Arsenal would therefore have to turn their attention elsewhere. So who could they target instead? Express Sport takes a look.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become a top-class Premier League striker in recent seasons, notching 16 times in 33 appearances last time out.

He has scored four goals in 11 England appearances and was part of Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for this summer’s Euros.

Calvert-Lewin would no doubt love a big-money move to Emirates Stadium but Everton are not short of cash and will have no interest in selling the 24-year-old unless an offer comes in which is too good to turn down.

Moussa Dembele

Another forward Arsenal could potentially consider is Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, although he did struggle for gametime after being ruled out with coronavirus.

Dembele has been a regular goalscorer in Ligue 1 over the years following a successful spell in Scotland with Celtic earlier in his career.

He has Champions League experience and played two Premier League games during the 2013/14 season while at Fulham.
