Arsenal ‘lodge second Jurrien Timber offer’ as Edu looks to close deal this week

Arsenal have launched a second bid for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber as Mikel Arteta looks to wrap up two transfers this week, according to reports. The Gunners have tabled a revised offer after Ajax rebuffed their initial approach earlier this month.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arteta wants to seal a deal for Timber this week as Arsenal’s preparations for the new season ramp up.

The report claims negotiations are advancing between the two clubs after Arsenal’s unsuccessful opening offer worth £30m.

Timber has agreed personal terms over a switch to the Emirates Stadium and is ready to sign a five-year contract.
