Arsenal may have to sell five players to sign Raheem Sterling as star ‘open’ to move
Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has admitted he is “open” to pursuing a new challenge elsewhere if his game time doesn’t improve – amid links with Arsenal. Express Sport looks at five players the Gunners can sell to raise funds for Sterling – valued at £81m – next summer (transfermarkt value).
Matteo Guendouzi (£19.8m)
Matteo Guendouzi arrived at Arsenal as a promising teenage midfielder and heavily featured under Unai Emery.
But he quickly fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta and is currently on his second loan move in two years at Marseille.
If the French club don’t trigger their option to buy him at the end of the season, Arsenal will likely look to sell to another suitor.
£19.8million may be too high a valuation, but Arsenal will want to make a healthy profit on the £8m they paid Lorient for the 22-year-old.

Lucas Torreira (£16.2m)
Lucas Torreira is currently out on another loan after, like Guendouzi, falling down the pecking order under Arteta.
Fiorentina have the option to buy him for around £12m at the end of the season, which could be a welcome influx of cash to help fund a move for Sterling.
Still only 25, Arsenal could probably demand a higher fee for him if he enjoys a good season in Italy.
But Fiorentina have an enticing clause in his contract, and every little helps…
