Arsenal table ‘more than adequate first offer’ for Mykhaylo Mudryk
Arsenal have submitted their first opening proposal for top January transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to reports in Ukraine. The Gunners opened formal talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a deal earlier this month when the war-hit club’s CEO Sergey Palkin flew to London for face-to-face discussions with the Premier League leaders and other potential suitors.
It’s no secret that Arsenal are pursuing Mudryk at full throttle but as of now, it is currently unclear whether the Gunners have indeed made their move with an opening proposal.
Express Sport have reached out to sources in an attempt to gain clarification on Arsenal’s pursuit of Mudryk but it is currently unclear whether the Gunners have indeed made their move with an opening proposal.
Ukrainian journalist Ihor Tsyhanyk is reporting that Arsenal have made their move, tabling a bid that is ‘more than adequate’ by Shakhtar.
They are yet to issue a response to the proposal, however, as they begin to consider reducing their asking price for the jet-heeled forward.

Arsenal value Mudryk at closer to £50m, although it remains to be seen whether they would be willing to pay that kind of money for a player who is yet to feature in Europe’s top-five leagues.
Shakhtar’s deputy sporting director Carlo Nicolini recently compared Mudryk to Antony in terms of value after the Manchester United winger moved to Old Trafford from Ajax for £86m this summer.
“Together with Kylian Mbappe, Rafa Leao and Vinicius Jr, Mudryk is the strongest player in his role,” Nicolini told Calciomercato.
“Is £35m enough to buy him? We don’t speak for these figures, not even for £45m, we don’t even call the president to make the offer.
“We value Mudryk more than United’s Antony – £85m. Floating between Arsenal and Man City? They are two teams that have taken an interest in the player.
“But there are also other clubs that can spend the money right away. We are not obliged to sell, we do not want to lose phenomena. We don’t want to shoot figures that aren’t realistic.”
Arsenal now have Mudryk firmly in their sights and they would love to sign the Ukrainian to help fill the void of Gabriel Jesus following his knee injury at the World Cup with Brazil.
The Gunners are also close to tying down Gabriel Martinelli to a new long-term contract in north London with an agreemenet understood to be close.
