As ONDC preps to take on Amazon-Flipkart duopoly, members seek clarity on e-commerce rules
Synopsis
A year since its pilot launch, ONDC has picked up pace. While it is touted to be the “transformational engine of e-commerce across the world”, ONDC will find it difficult to establish a strong presence until the regulatory haze is cleared.
At a day-long event last week titled Enabling Bharat 2.0, Union commerce and consumer affairs minister Piyush Goyal hailed the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as a “win-win solution for buyers, sellers, e-commerce companies, and the country”.“I would encourage all e-commerce companies to come on to ONDC at the right time so that they are not left behind,” Goyal said at the event, organised by ONDC, National Payments Corporation of India
