Avatar: Way of The Water Box Office Profits Keep the Sequels Safe; Cameron Sheds Light on the Future of Avatar
It is going to be around 3 weeks since Avatar: Way of the Water released, and the movie continues to perform well at the box office. So far, it has managed to earn more than $1.4 billion in the global box office, which is a recognizable achievement for the movie.
It also means that fans can rest easy, as none of the sequels for the series are at risk now. According to a report by Puck News (via Screenrant), the film crossing the $1.4 billion mark means the future of the franchise can go on as intended.
James Cameroon had previously suggested Avatar: Way of the Water would have to cross a threshold in order for the part 3 and part 4 to get made. He had stated the movie’s investment was very high, so the second part would have to perform exceptionally in order to make the series’ future sequels.
Fortunately, hitting the $1.4 billion mark means that people still want more from the series on a global level. Therefore, Cameron can go ahead with his vision for the franchise and deliver it in the way it was intended.
“This family is our fortress.”
