BAFTA Games Awards 2023 Nominations Announced

The nominees have been announced for the 2023 BAFTA Games Awards, with God of Way Ragnorok leading the way with 14 nominations.

The livestream for this year’s BAFTA Games Awards will go live on Twitch at 18:50 BST on March 30, and will see the academy dole out awards in 18 categories celebrating the many aspects of video game development. The categories include Animation, Artistic Achievement, Game Design, Multiplayer, and, of course, the coveted Best Game catagory.

As reported by VGC, God of War Ragnorok’s impressive showing makes it the most nominated game in the history of the BAFTA awards show. The Santa Monica Studios epic is nominated in a range of categories including that of Best Game. Both Sunny Suljic and Christopher Judge are both up for the award for best performer in a leading role. Considering the length of Judge’s speech at The Game Awards, his potential victory is sure to make showrunners nervous.

Elden Ring (eight nominations) will also compete in the Best Game catagory alongside Cult of the Lamb (three nominations), Marvel Snap (two nominations), Stray (9 nominations), and Vampire Survivors (5 nominations). Horizon Forbidden West (6 nominations) meanwhile will compete for a number of awards including Animation, Audio Achievement, and the only category that will be decided by votes from the public, The EE Game of the Year award.
