Baldur’s Gate 3 PS5 release time, launch date, pre-load and file size

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans are counting down to the release of the game on PlayStation 5. After impressing PC gamers with its size and ambition, the Larian developed role-playing game makes its debut on PS5. Launching on the same day as Starfield on Xbox and PC, the PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 has a September 6 release date and a 5pm BST UK launch time.

To ensure you’re ready for the game’s launch, pre-order customers can pre-load Baldur’s Gate 3 right now.

With the game weighing in at around 108GB on the PS5, pre-loading is certainly recommended.

Depending on your internet speeds, the gargantuan file size means Baldur’s Gate 3 could take a long time to fully download and install.

Described as the “ultimate D&D experience”, Baldur’s Gate 3 can be played in single or multiplayer.

“Abducted, infected, lost. You are turning into a monster, but as the corruption inside you grows, so does your power.

“Forge a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

“Caught in a conflict between devils, deities, and sinister otherworldly forces, you and your party will determine the fate of the Forgotten Realms.”

Interest in the PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 has grown since the game made its PC debut in early August.

In the weeks since launch, Baldur’s Gate 3 has racked up a hugely impressive 96% average score on Metacritic.

It’s currently tied with Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as game of the year.
