Battery drain, heating and network issues: Some iPhone users complain after iOS 14.7.1 update – Times of India
Some iPhone users are complaining about networking issues after updating their devices to the latest iOS 14.7.1 software. On the other hand, few users took to Twitter to complain about heating issues as well and also mentioned that the battery life of their iPhones have deteriorated suddenly after the update. It seems these issues are affecting all iOS devices including iPhone 7, iPhone XR, 11 and even the new iPhone 12. While some are facing network issues, few iPhone XR users are suffering from battery related issues after the update.
“After I updated my iphone 11 to ios 14.7.1 i lost a signal. Carrier is not found. No service is flashing on the upper screen. Please help me. I recently bought my phone. Hoping for an immediate response,” an iPhone 11 user posted on Apple’s community forum.
“Same problem. iPhone 6S, despite doing all the ons and offs, resetting the network settings, my phone is no longer a phone. This is great,” wrote another user.
It’s quite common for some iPhones to face issues like this after a new software update has been rolled. Apple generally fixes such issues quickly. We can also expect Apple to do the same this time as well, however, Apple hasn’t acknowledged issues with the iOS 14.7.1 update yet.
The latest iOS 14.7.1 is mostly about fixing security exploits. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) recently warned Apple iPhone and iPad users to immediately update their devices to iOS 14.7.1 and iPadOS 14.7.1. The agency, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said that both iOS and iPadOS have active vulnerabilities that are “currently being exploited”.
CERT-In issued a ‘high’ severity alert around the newly discovered memory corruption vulnerability. The devices that are affected are iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later and iPod touch (7th generation).
