Battlegrounds Mobile India and Garena Free Fire may face this Desi rival – Times of India

After PUBG ban in 2020, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Garena Free Fire are two prominent battle royale mobile games that dominate the Indian gaming market. The duo may soon get an Indian rival. Pune-based game studio SuperGaming has announced entry into the battle royale mobile gaming genre.
The game will be called the Indus Battle Royale. The company did not reveal the launch date of the game. It only states that the game will be unveiled in 2022.
SuperGaming currently offers two games — MaskGun and Silly Royale that focus on social and multiplayer interactions. For the upcoming Indus Battle Royale, it has built a brand new tech platform from scratch to make and support Indus post-launch too.
SuperGaming has also created a dedicated website for the upcoming game. The webpage states that the Indus will be a made-in-India battle royale game for-the-world. It will be available on mobiles, PCs and consoles.
The company says that Indus Battle Royale will focus on Indian culture with a futuristic twist for gamers across the globe. “Our intent is to deliver deep lore and a sense of place that’s distinct but relatable along with guns and gameplay systems that you’d expect from a modern-day battle royale,” the website states.
The game is currently under development. The company has shared a 21 second video on the website. While there is not much about the gameplay in the video, we can expect that the company may share more details about the game in the coming days.
