Battlegrounds Mobile India launch soon: 5 games it will compete against | 91mobiles.com

Although Battlegrounds Mobile India release date is still being finalised, you can hop over to the Google Play Store and pre register for the game. There’s an iOS version en route, too. If you want to bide your time and play some other battle royale games, we have the perfect list for you. Some of the titles are already established and well-known in the mobile gaming sphere, such as Call of Duty Mobile, Garena Free Fire, and Fortnite. Battlelands Royale, on the other hand, is relatively unknown. Its gameplay mechanics are radically different, too. It lacks many elements that one takes for granted in a Battle Royale title. We also have FAUG, which does not have a battle royale mode yet, but we hear it is expected.

Garena Free Fire

Long-time gamers will remember Garena as the one-stop client to play multiplayer games such as Counter Strike 1.6 and DOTA. However, Garena is a lot more than a gaming client now and has transitioned to developing games full-time. Free Fire is a lot quicker than PUBG Mobile and caps the maximum number of players to 50, instead of 100. Its UI elements, weapons, and gameplay are similar to that of PUBG Mobile, so you’ll feel right at home. It has a fledgling e-sports scene, too. While Free Fire is somewhat popular among Indian gamers, it pales in comparison to PUBG Mobile.

Call of Duty Mobile

After PUBG Mobile’s success, Tencent teamed up with Activision to bring one of the most iconic game franchises to mobile. Call of Duty Mobile is more than your average Battle Royale title, as it also features a host of other game modes. There’s a whole load of maps, too, many directly imported from the PC/Console version. Its in-app purchases are cosmetic-only, meaning that they don’t affect gameplay in any way, for the most part. Call of Duty Mobile saw a massive uptick in the form of PUBG Mobile refugees who had nowhere to go once the game was banned. Many would consider Call of Duty Mobile to be an upgrade over PUBG, and it is, in a manner of speaking.

FAUG

While FAUG is technically a PUBG Mobile contender, it barely qualifies as a mobile game, let alone a full-fledged battle royale title. FAUG still doesn’t have a Battle Royale mode, or even guns, for that matter. Its campaign mode is a few hours long and the graphics are not on par as other games on this list. Then again, we can’t expect much from a hastily-developed title that rode on PUBG Mobile’s coattails. nCore Games says that FAUG’s Team Deathmatch model will be ready by June 2021. We’ll believe it when we see it.

Fortnite

Strictly speaking, Fortnite is more than just a battle royale game. Many call it a hybrid between Minecraft and PUBG, primarily due to all the building mechanics. PUBG Mobile players would find it a little difficult at first, as there more to the game than just shooting people. Nonetheless, a little practice should fix that. Each game starts off with 100 players battling it out against the ‘storm’, which you need to run away from. However, getting your hands on a copy of Fortnite can be challenging, especially for Apple users. For those out of the loop, Apple and Epic are currently engaged in a very public spat about the former’s iron grip over the App Store. Fortnite is currently banned on the App Store, and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Android users, on the other hand, can get their hands on Fortnite directly from Epic’s website.

Battlelands Royale

Battlelands Royale is one of the more obscure battle royale titles. Its developer, Finnland-based Futureplay Games, has been around quite some time but is new to the battle royale genre. Furthermore, Battlelands Royale is a top-down isometric shooter, as opposed to the third/first-person perspective offered by the others. Its graphics are a bit cartoon-like, too. However, it is quite easy on the resources, meaning that you can run it on a wide range of hardware without worrying about the game looking like a PowerPoint presentation. It puts you against 32 players in a combat arena. There’s a battle pass, too, along with other cosmetic upgrades.
