Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite version launch seems unlikely, here’s why | 91mobiles.com

Battlegrounds Mobile India release date is yet to be revealed officially but multiple rumours suggest either a June 10th or June 18th launch. The game is up for pre-registration on the Google Play Store until the launch day. You might recall that PUBG Mobile had a Lite version as well, called PUBG Mobile Lite. The Lite version was meant for phones low on RAM and storage. This has gotten us wondering if a Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite is in the works as well. According to a new report, it seems Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite will not be happening. Here’s why.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite version might not be needed

Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite release date has not been mentioned anywhere on the official website. Now, it’s possible that the Lite version is still in the works and Krafton may be keeping a lid on it, but IGN India believes that there is no Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite. This is because Battlegrounds Mobile India system requirement is on the lower side anyway, so launching a separate Lite version seems pointless. As per the Google Play Store listing, the upcoming battle royale game requires Android phones running Android 5.1.1 or higher and with at least 2GB RAM.

With such a bare-boned system requirement, it looks like Battlegrounds Mobile India will not be a problem for low-end phones. That said, the PUBG Mobile system requirement also needed just 2GB of RAM and yet we still got a Lite version of the app.

Will Battlegrounds Mobile India run smoothly on low-end phones?

If Battlegrounds Mobile India launches with similar graphics as PUBG Mobile, you will need a phone with a capable chipset to run the game at high graphics and frame rates. Low-end phones with budget processors will likely run Battlegrounds Mobile India in low graphics settings. For such devices, perhaps a Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite version could be useful.

To recall, the PUBG Mobile Lite system requirement included Android phones running Android 4.1 or higher and 1GB RAM. The file size was just 600MB as compared to PUBG Mobile’s file size of around 1.5GB for Android devices.
