BGMI banned: How to download APK file to play, and what not to miss – Times of India
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been delisted from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store after orders from the Indian government. The BGMI game has been banned in India and users can no longer download the game from Google and Apple’s official app stores – Google Play and App Store. However, the games’ server is still active and users who have the game installed on their smartphones can still play the game.
APK Link available on BGMI website
Incidentally, last month, the game developer Krafton also launched the APK file (Android Package Kit) of the game on its official website. The APK file allows players to download and sideload the game on their Android smartphones. This means that users can download the latest version of the game and install it on their smartphones. But as the APK name itself suggests, this option is only for Android users. Sideloading of apps is not allowed on Apple devices.
So, if you are looking to download and sideload the game on your smartphone, here are a few things that you should keep in mind:
Google asks users to avoid APK files
Google advises against sideloading apps on its devices as these apps can be risky and pose security issues. The APK file can be modified to include malware and harmful viruses.
Apple does not offer any option to sideload the app. So, currently, there’s no way to download the game on iPhones and iPads.
How to download BGMI APK file and sideload it
– Open BGMI’s official website on your smartphone
– Tap on APK download button
– The APK file size is around 600MB, so wait for the download to finish
– Tap on the downloaded APK file and allow ‘Install unknown app’ permission for the app
Once installed, open the game and download the additional files (OBB) for the game. That’s it. BGMI is now installed on your smartphone. Restart the game, login and start playing.
