Blue Protocol: Western Release of Anime MMO Pushed to 2024, Closed Beta Coming Out This Year
Blue Protocol is a free-to-play action-RPG MMO which has been delayed by developer Bandai Namco and publisher Amazon Games. The delay deals with the western release of the game that has now been pushed back to 2024. While the game is not out until next year, Blue Protocol beta will be released in 2023. Blue Protocol is also set to be released fully in Japan on June 14.
Explaining the delay, the developers said in the announcement, “With continued efforts to localize the deeply immersive stories and build the infrastructure needed to engage in multiplayer adventures and massive online raids against towering monsters, we’re working hard to ensure the best possible experience for our players at launch.”
Blue Protocol will still be making its way this year through a closed beta test on PC. Players who are interested in trying out the anime MMO and giving their feedback can sign up here. The game offers five different classes of heroes:
- Blade Warden who are masters of both sword and shield.
- Twin Striker who are great at short-range damage dealing with axes.
- Keen Strider who wield a bow and arrow and are pretty agile.
- Spell Weaver possess elemental powers of fire, ice, and lightning.
- Foe Breaker are all but brute strength and powerful short range attacks with hammers.
There is also character customisation across areas such as outfits, mounts, emotes and more. There will be microtransactions in the game, mainly for these cosmetic upgrades. It’s important to note that Blue Protocol is not a gacha game (which features game mechanics similar to lootboxes).
Blue Protocol will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
