Bugs reported in Ola S1 Pro electric scooter after installing MoveOS 2.0 update

The Ola S1 Pro is beginning to approach its one-year anniversary as the vehicle was first launched on August 15th, 2021. The premium e-scooter has gone on to secure good sales numbers in the recent past despite facing a truckload of complaints about issues and niggles. Ola Electric recently also teased their first electric car.

MoveOS 2.0 starts rolling out to S1 Pro riders

MoveOS 2.0 was launched at Ola Electric’s mega-event at its Futurefactory. The Ola S1 Pro is getting most missing features that were longed for by its customers via the update but with its share of bugs. The new update brings in earlier promised features such as Cruise Control, navigation, music playback and more. The MoveOS 2.0 updates are available both via the OTA route and manual route. In some cases, the older VCUs that the earlier batches of the S1 Pro e-scooter came with had to be swapped out for newer ones to offer more RAM, storage, and better GPS signal strength.

However, the MoveOS 2.0 update tales are not all merry and there are tales of bugs and glitches that have started flowing as the initial impressions from riders. TeamBHP user Purushotham BV aka HighOctane, shared his experience with the update. The user reported that the update was about 800MB in size and took about 25 odd minutes to install. He was required to have the Ola Electric app on his phone and the phone connected to the scooter via Bluetooth. The app shows charging status, battery status, kilometres run, range in different modes, scooter manual, helpdesk etc.

The BHPian also commented regarding some bugs that he encountered within two hours of installing the update. These included a false charging status on the companion app, handlebar lock engagement issues when unlocking via the phone and the GPS module problem while using the MapMyIndia-based navigation system on the go.

Another BHPian who goes by the handle name raghu67 also shared his experience with the MoveOS 2.0 update. The rider was required to get his VCU upgraded as his vehicle was manufactured in the earlier batches. The rider’s impressions suggested a sluggish ECO mode ride. This was reported by other users on the forum as well.

Ola Electric could be working on these bugs in the near future for the betterment of the riding experience for the riders.
