Call of Duty: Mobile is celebrating its 2nd anniversary with the launch of Season 8 on September 23 8AM IST. As part of the new content, the battle royale map Blackout, which happens to be the first Call of Duty battle royale map, will be added to the game. Blackout was first launched in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and was the largest map in any Call of Duty game ever at that time.
Season 8 is the Anniversary season of the mobile shooter and there is a new tournament coming to Blackout. It will add more of the free and premium content with new characters such as Alias – Battleworn and Velikan – Volcanic Ash, new functional weapons like the R9-0 shotgun immediately and the M13 assault rifle later, a new Scorestreak, Weapon Blueprints, Call of Duty Points (CP) and more.
There will be three new events for players this season–an Anniversary Cake event, an Anniversary Puzzle event and a new limited-time event called Counterattack.
Counterattack mode
The new mode brings Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and PvE gameplay to Call of Duty: Mobile Battle Royale for the first time. NPCs will give missions to the players and they, along with the Mercenaries, can even be recruited to bring back the event points.
Visual and gameplay improvements
Besides the season content update, the game will come with gameplay and feature improvements like new and improved visuals, a new weapon looting system, new health and armor system and improved vehicle UI elements. The Crash map, which happens to be the most played map in the game, will also be updated with better graphics. Players will also get the opportunity to earn 50 new tiers of Battle Pass rewards.
