Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Players May Be Banned Because of RGB Software as Messi, Pogba, Neymar Arrive in Game; Gaming Gear, Double XP, and More

Some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players reported getting falsely banned from the game recently. Activision also rejected the ban appeals, despite these players saying they didn’t use any unauthorised software at all. We now know what the cause could be behind this.

According to Insider Gaming, Activision sent emails to banned players explaining that they’ve got the hammers for “using unauthorised software and manipulation of game data.” Tom Henderson of the outlet then asked five hundred of these banned gamers a number of questions, including about the software they used. It turns out, that there is something wonky with the Modern Warfare 2 anti-cheat system, and it falsely detects RGB software as some cheating program. The most popular software used are Logitech G Hub, iCUE, and Razer Synapse. Some banned players also had software such as Dragon Center and Armory Crate installed on their systems.

As leaked earlier, football icons Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar Jr. will be available in Call of Duty games. Activision has made the announcement of the stars’ arrival in the games, and it is presumed that they will be playable characters. In a tweet, Activision showed the three players’ lockers with military gear. You can also check out the Call of Duty operators for Pogba and Neymar Jr. below. Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain F.C. forward Messi also partnered with Krafton’s hit mobile title, PUBG Mobile recently.

Modern Warfare 2 gaming gear available as Activision gives double XP tokens

Basketball clothing company Point 3 has announced a collaborated with Modern Warfare 2. The collaboration includes a variety of Modern Warfare 2 shorts and joggers. Some of the designs have sold out by now, but you can check them out on Point3’s official website.

Activision is also offer double XP tokens to some players. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 released with a basic and a Vault Edition. The latter contains extra perks such as operator skins, first season battle pass, to name a few. The Vault Edition also offers ten hours of double XP and weapon XP tokens if you preorder the game, but only if you used the Call of Duty: Warzone, Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War or Modern Warfare’s in-game store.

As many people who bought the Vault Edition missed this, they essentially paid the same amount of money as anyone else who used the in-game store. It didn’t help that the requirement was stated at the end of the page in a very vague manner. Many players took to Reddit to complain about the missing XP tokens, and Activision finally took notice of this and decided to compensate everyone who bought the Vault Edition.

“We understand there has been some confusion about an in-game-store exclusive reward for the Vault Edition,” the company said in a statement. “Therefore, we’ve decided to reward all players that currently own or purchase any version of the MWII Vault Edition with 10 hours of double XP tokens and 10 hours of double weapon XP tokens. Current owners who have not already received the tokens should expect to see them in their account over the next 48 hours.”
