Call of Duty’s got a new Anti-Cheat tool that will detect third-party banned hardware | Digit
It looks like Activision are making sure that cheaters never prosper with the release of its latest anti-cheat tool on the Call of Duty series. So, what exactly does this anti-cheat tool do? Well, it detects the presence of banned, third-party hardware that is a part of the user’s setup. In more simple terms, if you are using some kind of hardware to allow you to aim better, move faster etc, you’ll receive a message stating that you are using an unsupported device. If you decide to ignore the warning, you could have your account taken away, so do tread lightly. This new anti-cheat tool is available for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. It will also be present on both the PC and consoles.
Call of Duty introduces new Anti-Cheat tools
In an official statement on the Call of Duty blog, the developers stated that they have a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and that all accounts caught cheating may be permanently banned across Call of Duty titles. “Banned accounts will have their records purged from the Ranked Play Top 250 and other competitive Leaderboards.” The announcement went on to state that,” RICOCHET Anti-Cheat and development studios may adjust the Skill Rating (SR) for players that have frequently played with and benefited from banned cheating accounts, even if they have not used cheats.”
The company has also announced a new Replay Investigation Tool. What this does is that any footage that has been captured or stored can be reviewed for cheaters. The RICOHET Anti-Cheat team will then identify cheating in its games. Activision has also stated that in-game warnings will now be issued to players using glitches and exploits as well as harassing other players. This will lead to account bannings and such.
So, as we’ve stated above, in the spirit of competition let’s tread lightly when it comes to cheating in multiplayer games or you will face the consequences, according to Activision.
