canon: Canon launches EOS R5 C camera and two new Prime telephoto lenses in India – Times of India

Expanding its Cinema EOS system of video production equipment line-up, Canon has announced the launch of EOS R5 C in India. The company says the new EOS R5 is designed to cater the need for users, who are looking for a camera with high quality still photos and videos. The camera features a compact and lightweight body and supports up to 8K RAW video recording.
In addition to this, the company has also announced two new L-series super telephoto prime lenses — RF800mm F5.6L IS USM and RF1200mm F8L IS USM.

Canon has launched the EOS R5 C at Rs 3,99,900 and will be available for purchase in April 2022.

Canon EOS R5 C: Specifications
The EOS R5 C comes equipped with a full-frame 45MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC X image processor. The camera supports 8K /30P RAW with an internal power supply and 8K / 60P RAW video when using an external power supply. The camera can also record 8K/30P video in MP4 file format.
The camera also supports full pixel readout 8K effective pixels and can also oversample the data to produce high-image-quality 4K / 4:2:2 / 10bit video.
The company has also added a new heat transfer architecture and internal thermal transfer fan built into the EOS R5 C to keep the thermals in check while recording high quality videos. The company claims this also allows for longer durations video recording than the regular EOS R5.
Apart from that, the camera supports Cinema RAW Light recording format along with the company’s own XF-AVC format based on broadcast standards.
Talking about still photography capabilities, the R5 C’s 45MP sensor supports high speed continuous shooting and claims to shoot at up to 20 frames-per-second (FPS) with the electronic shutter and up to 12 FPS with the mechanical shutter.
